Just so you know, if you have been following me on instagram (@yee_kit), you would have known that I'm currently 5 months pregnant now! And yes, it's my second baby!
YAY *claps claps*
Was supposed to do up a post on Charlize's journey on Alphabet Playhouse, but then again, my morning sickness was back to haunt me...... :( Thank god first trimester is over and I'm feeling all well again!
P/s. Do note that this is gonna be a lengthy post, BUT, parents, please read what I'm going to share here!
Ok, so, my INITIAL idea only supposed to mention about THINKING of switching school for Charlize and the reason WHY; why I was KIND OF unsatisfied with the teachers.... why do I think that the environment is unsuitable for children... But now, NO.
I've already withdrawn Charlize from Alphabet Playhouse and enrolled her into another school (which I cross my fingers and pray that it's gonna be better).
SO, What Happened?
Here it is:
On 1st Oct 2014, as usual, I've sent Charlize to school together, with my helper. And as I was feeling rather unwell, I waited in the car while the helper walk Charlize to her school gate.
My eyes were glued on them, of course, thinking about all these parenthood, how far we've come to, all the tiny little details that help me grow, with my kid etc... And of course, Definitely, thinking, when on earth can I stop the vomiting....................
As usual, Charlize was left at the school gate area(together with a Korean administrative staff) where she has to remove her shoes before entering the school. And as usual (again), Charlize was sitting on the chair, throwing tantrum as she kinda refuse to go into the school.
But, kids do throw tantrum at times, don't they?? We just need to have patience with them..... No?
What I saw, the very next moment, terrified me.
The admin staff, raised Charlize's tiny PALM (not arm), lifted her up from the ground and sort of threw her into the school.
The moment I saw this, seriously, I got no idea where on earth I've gotten all my energy from, I stepped out of my car, dashed over and scream (YES I SCREAMED, SO WHAT?! I DONT NEED AND I CANT REMAIN ANY CLASSY MOMENT AT THAT POINT OF TIME) at the staff.
And know what? She pretended that nothing had happened, and poor Charlize was LYING on the floor, crying.
I confronted her.
And, she, they call her Teacher Kim (though she is just an admin staff) DENIED what she did.
I told her, very un-calmly, almost crying out, that I saw E-V-E-R-Y-T-H-I-N-G.
Then, she kept quiet.
I requested to speak to the principal, but, she was on the phone; seriously have got no idea who is she speaking to, and oh yes, she was just sitting right beside when the whole incident occur! Goodness me!
I didn't wanted to wait, and I brought Charlize home, right after. Waiting for a response from both the principal and the cluster principal.
But, you know what?
I was SO DISAPPOINTED with their response.
They only told me, that they are sorry for what happened and will make sure, from then on, the teachers will be the only people that can bring the kids into the classrooms.
Seriously????
I emailed ECDA straight away, waited nearly a week for their reply and this is what they tell me.
I called back and asked if they really DID anything to check on the school/teachers, she told me they did and they have their own set of rules and regulations which they cannot share with me.
REALLY?? SERIOUSLY??
And ECDA also told me it WAS NOT mandatory for the school to install a CCTV in the school under MOE law when I requested.
I mean, THINK, the admin lady was with Charlize for merely 2 mins and she could be frustrated. What about the teachers?! When they need to face 6-8 toodlers for 8 hours???
Most importantly, WHY did the admin teacher kept quiet WHEN I told her I overlooked everything? And then explained to ECDA that she held on to Charlize to prevent her from falling?
AND HELLO!!!! I SAW EVERYTHING WITH MY OWN EYES! She DID NOT hold on to Charlize's hand to lead her to her class. SHE LITERALLY RAISED AND LIFTED HER. Not HOLD AND PREVENT HER FROM FAILLING.
And then, my question, WHY DIDNT SHE HOLD CHARLIZE ON HER ARMS INSTEAD???? What if she accidentally dislocated her arms?!!??!?! OH MY GOD.
And since ECDA claimed that they have already done what they ought to do, I have got no choice but to turn to the MP.
To my horror again,
The MP told me, they couldn't do anything as it is a private school, and I do not have CONCRETE EVIDENCE to back my words.
OH YES, it's so contradicting.
It is not mandatory for preschools to install CCTV, but if such things happen, we can't do anything if we do not have any proof.
I cant possible take my phone out and video all these that happened right? Whatever happened, was so sudden. And never will I expect the school/teacher/staff to treat my kid like that.
Sigh.
On top of that, Mr. MP even told me,
"The school would rather lose your business than to lose a teacher. This is the harsh reality."
We are living in a HARSH REALITY. I will bear that in mind, ALWAYS. Thank you.
So now, we know, people will only look INTO the matter if LIFE THREATENING events happen.
Else,
Blame it on your luck.
P/s. All I ever needed, was an apology from the staff/teacher who hurt my daughter. But till date, no apology from her was given.
DISAPPOINTED!
